Lead Engineer

Revelle is here to make women feel beautiful in their bodies every day by helping them find clothes that actually fit. For too long women have been forced to deal with frustrating inconsistencies in clothing sizing, and the sheer number of brands available online has made it impossible to navigate. Revelle is creating a new way to shop online, centered around women’s needs. 

Launched during the pandemic, Revelle has experience explosive growth in the past year. We’re looking to hire an experience Lead Engineer to take ownership of our technical infrastructure and bring it to the next level. This person will play an integral part in making sure that our site is architected to scale rapidly and will be a strategic partner to the Founder as the company continues to grow. This role offers a competitive salary ranging between $120,000 – $200,000 plus equity.

This role will: 

  • Build Revelle’s internal engineering team from the ground up, including hiring, developing, and managing engineers 
  • Establish a clear technical strategy for the company that will bring our stack to the next level 
  • Architect efficient and scalable systems that will support Revelle as its user base grows exponentially
  • Build processes and establish best practices for test-driven development of our product using agile software development practices
  • Partner with Founder to prioritize engineering work including new features, product enhancements, and bug fixes 
  • Collaborate with broader team to identify software solutions to business challenges, prioritizing and addressing incoming user feedback
  • Own day-to-day performance of Revelle website, defining and tracking metrics to keep ourselves accountable to larger business goals 
  • Establish site reliability infrastructure to support automation of bug detection 
  • Work in our current stack: Django, Python, React, Javascript, PHP, HTML, CSS, WordPress 
  • Be a strategic partner with the Founder & CEO, helping shape the culture of the team from day one to create a company that people absolutely love working for 

An ideal candidate: 

  • Has worked at a startup, and preferably at a tech-driven, consumer-focused brand
  • Has built consumer-facing applications at scale 
  • Has worked with inbound product APIs and has strong opinions about how to optimize them
  • Is excited to build and manage their own engineering team, but also isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved in the weeds 
  • Has built or been involved in constructing personalization algorithms 
  • Has personal experience with the clothing fit problem Revelle is trying to solve
